It's a simple black ballet flat, but it can easily spice up a simple outfit. I can image it paired up with a black wool pencil skirt. It's muted enough to fit in any setting (jeans for school, business suit in the office, etc), but fun enough to go out.
Does anyone know if they're out of business? I love that lip gloss too much!

Like mentioned in the title (hehe), I'm going to start another Project 10 Pan. Hopefully this time I'll document it better. As I did for round one, I'm including skin care as well just because I don't use that much makeup. (My everyday look typically involves concealer, foundation, powder, eyebrow powder, mascara, and lip balm.) It'll add more to my list, but at the same time, I can't purchase any skin care products until I'm done the Project 10 Pan.

Potential purchases after round two:
1. Make Up For Ever Duo Mat Powder Foundation (shouldn't it be "matte"? hmm...)
The only thing I tend to run out is mascara! Plus, I tend to collect beauty products, not makeup products ><*

Anyway, I added another item to "done" list: L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara. I can't wait to purchase it again!
I almost made a CherryCulture.com purchase a few days ago because of the awesome sale. Luckily I refrained from that. I almost purchased a Pure lipgloss too! It was the same colour as the Mac purple lipgloss from the Hello Kitty collection that I am obsessed with. It was only four dollars too! But I figured I could survive without a backup for my backup.

In regards to my progress, I just finished one lip balm, H2O Plus Makeup Remover* and a Mac lipstick in Hug Me. I have a few products that are almost done too!

*I am doing a twist on Project 10 Pan. I am not only going to focus on makeup products but any beauty products as well. (That includes moisturizers, eye cream, etc.) The downside is that I can't purchase any beauty products as well until I have completed Project 10 Pan.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1382500912297089524.post-69732988080487510602010-01-24T16:48:00.000-08:002010-01-24T16:48:00.543-08:00Philosophy's Melting Marshmallow CreamI purchased Philosophy's Melting Marshmallow Cream Body Soufflé exactly a year ago in a holiday package by Philosophy (Warm by the Fire). There is a similar one that's available right now that's called "The Winter Escape". The only difference is that it comes with the Marshmallow lip gloss instead of the S'mores one.

Just so you know, the packaging is now different. The current Marshmallow Cream packaging is decorated with snowflakes and coloured lettering. Whereas the one I have is mimics other products in the Philosophy line: simple, black and white, and includes an interesting relevant block of text.

What They Say
This product has a light and silky formula that melts into your skin. It is ultra-moisturizing (sic). Also, it soothes and hydrates the skin. The antioxidant formula promotes a smoother, younger looking skin.

What I Think
When I use this cream, it feels like I have a film of product sitting on my skin even when I only use a small amount. It does a good job moisturizing my skin, however I wish it would penetrate into my skin more. Due to this, I find that I need to reapply the product constantly to keep my skill hydrating. The scent is a little off. It smells like really cheap candy than marshmallow. It's not the worst scented product I've used, but it could be a lot better.
An in my defense, I made the purchase before starting Project 10 Pan. I wasn't planning on purchasing anything, but on my way to the skytrain, a 50% off sign at The Bay caught my eye. I couldn't resist!

H2O Plus' Raspberry Guava Moisturizing Body Balm

Raspberry Guava used to be "my" scent. I used H2O Plus' Raspberry Guava line religiously in my teenage years. Although not a very strong scent, this body balm provided just the right amount that people will know I'm near them by recognizing the scent.

H2O Plus' Dual Action Eye Makeup Remover

This makeup remover is my favourite. It is gentle and oil free, and it can remove everything easily. I haven't purchased this product for a long time now just because of its price (regularly $18usd/$24cdn for 4.5fl oz/133mL).

Barbie by Cake's Gotta Hand it to Her Hand Cream

Okay, although I was able to semi-justify the previous two products, I can't do the same for this one. This was purchased simply due to the fact that I think it smells amazing. It smells like cake! Yum =)

Have you ladies made any guilty purchases lately? *crosses fingers* (I hope I'm not the only one!)
I received Korres' Cherry Lip Kisses from a friend through a secret santa swap.

This value set come in a set of three lip glosses featuring Korres' best-selling shades: Nude (33), Fuchsia (54), and Natural Purple (25). (Please note that the colours are listed left to right according to the image above.)

What They Say
The lip glosses contain cherry oil (moisturizing, providing long-lasting colour and water-resistant shield), jojoba oil (hydrates without stickiness and smooth fine lines), and vitamins C and E (antioxidant protection and repair lips). Formula is long-lasting, vibrant, and creamy.

What I Say
At first glance, I only liked Fushcia which is a shimmery pinkish-purple. But after trying them out, I really like the Natural Purple (a sheer plum brown). It's very natural yet very pigmented. The downside to these lip glosses is that I can't put it on without a mirror due to its pigmentation (which is actually a good thing).

Currently you can purchase the set of three for only $19.50 at Korres.com or Sephora.com. For the same size, they are $16-17 each!
Why? Because they were by Sanrio! For those who don't know, Sanrio is the company that brought us Hello Kitty, Keroppi, Chococat, and many more lovable characters.

This time around, the toys were just the plain Sanrio characters and the purpose of that is so we can draw on them. Each toy came with a pencil crayon, but I used my art supplies instead.

I haven't been purchasing much makeup lately since my YouTube hiatus. So I figured I should continue with this by participating in Project 10 Pan. For those who don't know, Project 10 Pan is using up 10 items before purchasing any new ones. I know some makeup gurus are strictly makeup; however, I'm a little more versatile with my blog so I'm going to include all beauty products.

If you're doing it too, leave a comment and we'll keep each other in track!
Throughout high school and past couple years in university, I've been using H2O Plus' Face Oasis Hydrating Treatment as my daily facial moisturizer. Recently, I even tried their Face Oasis Ultra Hydrator which claims to be more moisturizing compared to the Hydrating Treatment. They're right. However, I decided to venture out and try something new. Not because the products I've been using isn't right for me, but simply out of curiosity.

My new product of choice? Philosophy's Hope in a Jar.

*side note: I had horrible skin during my preteen and teenage years. I was an active swimmer so my skin was constantly exposed to chlorine and all the nasty stuff in pools. However, H2O Plus's Hydrating Treatment helped me repair my dry skin. I have combination skin.

What They Say
This product claims to hydrate, exfoliate, and protect the skin. It is mostly (99.9%) oil-free. It is designed to smooth complexion and reduce wrinkles and discolouration. It was "originally created for the medical market" to deliver "soft, healthy, glowing results".

What I Say
Although it claims for results to show after a few uses, I didn't see it for myself. It initially dried my skin. It also roughened my skin as well. (Perhaps it was in its "deep exfoliating" stage.) I've been constantly using the product for a month now and I see some positive changes in my skin. It is much smoother and hydrated. Yet at the same time, it doesn't promote my skin to be oily which is a huge plus for us combination skin girls. The down side is the scent. It's not my favourite scent in the world and it stays for a good hour or so. Also, sometimes it feels like I have a layer of moisturizer on top of my skin (rather than it being absorbed). This is a huge con when using mineral makeup because the moisturizer stays on for a long time and soaks up the makeup.

Peanut Butter and Beauty Overview
SPF? no
Unscented? no (however they claim the scent to be not artificial)
Moisturizing? yes
Availability? really easy to get (Sephora, beauty boutiques, Amazon.com)

Hope in a Jar? Maybe not. So although it's raved about on YouTube and Sephora, I think it has a little work to do before I can make it my #1 go-to moisturizer. However, I will easily go back to this if my first choice is unavailable.
That's a decent price, but today, I went to another location and they were only $7.00! I'm not sure if it's because I was in a different city (still in GVRD) or if it was a different sale.

I've been attracted to rich and slightly shimmery nail polishes lately (recently picked up Essie Jag-U-Are). So today I got Sexy Divide from Essie's Winter '08 collection. The colour was inspired by Abaete's fall/winter runway fashion collection.

The colour goes on smoothly like all Essie polishes. The shimmer is very muted. I can't wait to make my grey and neutral outfits pop in the fall with this nail polish!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1382500912297089524.post-3176792056000480622009-08-25T15:09:00.000-07:002010-01-11T01:02:14.106-08:00Seche ViteHey darlings!

I haven't updated this blog for ages. Sorry! *begs for forgiveness* =)

Anyway, just a week or so ago I went down to the States with the boyfriend and I picked up a bunch of beauty products. I'm so excited to show them to you guys. But here's the product that brought me back to you guys: Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat.

Don't you ladies hate sitting there waiting for your gorgeous nails to dry (although some of you may love it because it's an excuse to have our man spoil us while we're temporarily "disabled"). Well, this product is sent straight from heaven.

I got it for $9.99 at Ulta but you can purchase it on Amazon for cheaper (they're 50% off right now!). For a girl that rarely purchases nail polishes that cost more than $2 (aside from Essie <3), this product is a good investment. Opportunity cost! <-sorry, the economics geek is still within me. I've seen this product used by a couple Youtube gurus but from what I know, it's not overly popular. They did mention that it takes practice to use but it was very easy for me. You can't be cheap though. The best way to apply this product is to put a drop of the product on your nail and then spread it out. That way you won't smudge your nail polish. It dries pretty quickly. I usually just watch a few Youtube videos and it's already solid. To re-literate how quick it is. I applied two coats of my nail polish and the top coat before I started typing this post and it's already dry (I'm a fast typer). Amazing! It lasts long, no flakes, quick drying, glossy finish, and affordable. <3 Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat
My boyfriend doesn't like it, but I think it's pretty awesome. It's not my kind of jewelery though. However, I'm going to keep the idea in mind for maybe a classy hard rock chick Halloween costume or something. What do you ladies think?

Here's the link =)Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1382500912297089524.post-16615954106686094352009-06-15T21:32:00.001-07:002009-06-16T10:44:34.521-07:00MAC SaleUnknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1382500912297089524.post-24526055175588081812009-04-26T15:47:00.000-07:002009-04-28T13:16:53.698-07:00New Nail GoodiesBonjour =) I haven't blogged for awhile so I guess it's time I get my butt onto the blogging world and blog about something... right? Wow, I used "blog" three times in one sentence. Back to topic. I grabbed some nail polishes lately. Now I don't like spending more than $2 on nail polish. I stand strongly by that. I don't use nail polishes enough to splurge on it. Plus, it's not like the quality is always better when I spend more. I rather go back and grab more than to have the polish stay in my room waiting to dry up before I throw away. I'm digressing now.

You Are My Sunshine by Claire's Cosmetics 0.25 fl. oz or 75mL

Now I must say this nail polish is tiny and it was $2.75CDN. (gasp!) However, I love the quality and staying power of Claire's nail polishes. Icing by Claire's is good too since they're the same quality. Although their bottles are squared, not round. Anyway, I just love this colour. It's super summery. It'll make really cute french tips!

Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear nail Colour in 13, 03, 82 (left to right) 11.8mL each

The quality of this product is pretty good. I can't compare it to other Sally Hansen polishes because the only other Sally Hansen nail product I have is her nail polish pen. This product has a decent consistency. It lasts an average amount of time, but I find that I need to touch up on it after a couple days. I'm not a fan of that since I didn't even wear it to work! I can't complain too much; I only paid $1 each for them at Rexall. Plus, they're supposed to make your nails stronger. Horrah for double purpose products!

If you have any questions, want more details, or want me to review any products, feel free to leave a comment! =)Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1382500912297089524.post-28648279358981434662009-04-13T13:07:00.000-07:002009-04-13T13:19:59.504-07:00NYX SaleHi there ladies!

Now we all know about Cherry Culture and their awesome discounted price for our beloved NYX products. So today, my old high school was decked out to look like Forks High. That's right, it's for the second movie in the Twilight series, New Moon. Apparently Stephenie Meyer and Kristen Stewart (who plays Bella Swan) were there. I didn't go, but I'm sure there were a lot of people who did.

Anyway, what I did see was another site where they were filming the movie. I was taking a different route to a Starbucks from school and we passed by some huge trucks. After working at many concerts, I could pretty much tell what kind of trucks are for what. Amazing, I know =) Anyhoo... as the bus I was on passed the set, I knew immediately it was for New Moon. I think I saw a glimpse of some familiar actors, but I could be wrong. It's a really pretty location though.

I don't know if I'm going to watch New Moon. I was really disappointed by Twilight. I found that it didn't represent the books well enough. Although I do know that the movie version is never as good as the book, but I was truly disappointed on how they portrayed Edward Cullen. He's SO dreamy in the book, but in the movie, he was just creepy. Ick. I'll see...Unknownnoreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1382500912297089524.post-2124499068224498712009-04-07T10:54:00.001-07:002009-04-07T17:44:32.288-07:00AHHH!

I think I need to join a Makeup Anonymous.
