Project 10 Pan Update

I think I'm doing pretty well so far. I almost made a CherryCulture.com purchase a few days ago because of the awesome sale. Luckily I refrained from that. I almost purchased a Pure lipgloss too! It was the same colour as the Mac purple lipgloss from the Hello Kitty collection that I am obsessed with. It was only four dollars too! But I figured I could survive without a backup for my backup.

In regards to my progress, I just finished one lip balm, H2O Plus Makeup Remover* and a Mac lipstick in Hug Me. I have a few products that are almost done too!

*I am doing a twist on Project 10 Pan. I am not only going to focus on makeup products but any beauty products as well. (That includes moisturizers, eye cream, etc.) The downside is that I can't purchase any beauty products as well until I have completed Project 10 Pan.

Philosophy's Melting Marshmallow Cream

I purchased Philosophy's Melting Marshmallow Cream Body Soufflé exactly a year ago in a holiday package by Philosophy (Warm by the Fire). There is a similar one that's available right now that's called "The Winter Escape". The only difference is that it comes with the Marshmallow lip gloss instead of the S'mores one.

Just so you know, the packaging is now different. The current Marshmallow Cream packaging is decorated with snowflakes and coloured lettering. Whereas the one I have is mimics other products in the Philosophy line: simple, black and white, and includes an interesting relevant block of text.

What They Say
This product has a light and silky formula that melts into your skin. It is ultra-moisturizing (sic). Also, it soothes and hydrates the skin. The antioxidant formula promotes a smoother, younger looking skin.

What I Think
When I use this cream, it feels like I have a film of product sitting on my skin even when I only use a small amount. It does a good job moisturizing my skin, however I wish it would penetrate into my skin more. Due to this, I find that I need to reapply the product constantly to keep my skill hydrating. The scent is a little off. It smells like really cheap candy than marshmallow. It's not the worst scented product I've used, but it could be a lot better.

NYX $1 Sale

Sales are one of the few reasons why I rather live in the States than in Canada.

NYX is often found on wholesale sites for less than retail price. But this time around, NYXcosmetics.com is having a dollar sale!

Click here to take advantage of this deal.

They have everything from $1 round lipsticks (that we all love), to $1 fake lashes (amazing deal!), to $1 foundation. Can someone get me the Black Label Compact Powder? It's $25 on CherryCulture.com ><*

Haul #1

First haul of the new year! An in my defense, I made the purchase before starting Project 10 Pan. I wasn't planning on purchasing anything, but on my way to the skytrain, a 50% off sign at The Bay caught my eye. I couldn't resist!

H2O Plus' Raspberry Guava Moisturizing Body Balm

Raspberry Guava used to be "my" scent. I used H2O Plus' Raspberry Guava line religiously in my teenage years. Although not a very strong scent, this body balm provided just the right amount that people will know I'm near them by recognizing the scent.

H2O Plus' Dual Action Eye Makeup Remover

This makeup remover is my favourite. It is gentle and oil free, and it can remove everything easily. I haven't purchased this product for a long time now just because of its price (regularly $18usd/$24cdn for 4.5fl oz/133mL).

Barbie by Cake's Gotta Hand it to Her Hand Cream

Okay, although I was able to semi-justify the previous two products, I can't do the same for this one. This was purchased simply due to the fact that I think it smells amazing. It smells like cake! Yum =)

Have you ladies made any guilty purchases lately? *crosses fingers* (I hope I'm not the only one!)

Korres Cherry Lip Kisses

I am still sticking to Project 10 Pan! I received Korres' Cherry Lip Kisses from a friend through a secret santa swap.

This value set come in a set of three lip glosses featuring Korres' best-selling shades: Nude (33), Fuchsia (54), and Natural Purple (25). (Please note that the colours are listed left to right according to the image above.)

What They Say
The lip glosses contain cherry oil (moisturizing, providing long-lasting colour and water-resistant shield), jojoba oil (hydrates without stickiness and smooth fine lines), and vitamins C and E (antioxidant protection and repair lips). Formula is long-lasting, vibrant, and creamy.

What I Say
At first glance, I only liked Fushcia which is a shimmery pinkish-purple. But after trying them out, I really like the Natural Purple (a sheer plum brown). It's very natural yet very pigmented. The downside to these lip glosses is that I can't put it on without a mirror due to its pigmentation (which is actually a good thing).

Currently you can purchase the set of three for only $19.50 at Korres.com or Sephora.com. For the same size, they are $16-17 each!

KISS Hello Kitty

Over the summer, I purchased a couple McDonald's Happy Meals just for their toy. Why? Because they were by Sanrio! For those who don't know, Sanrio is the company that brought us Hello Kitty, Keroppi, Chococat, and many more lovable characters.

This time around, the toys were just the plain Sanrio characters and the purpose of that is so we can draw on them. Each toy came with a pencil crayon, but I used my art supplies instead.

I am please to introduce to you... KISS Hello Kitty!

Yeah, not very cute, but I still love her the very same. <3

Project 10 Pan

Hey darlings!

I haven't been purchasing much makeup lately since my YouTube hiatus. So I figured I should continue with this by participating in Project 10 Pan. For those who don't know, Project 10 Pan is using up 10 items before purchasing any new ones. I know some makeup gurus are strictly makeup; however, I'm a little more versatile with my blog so I'm going to include all beauty products.

If you're doing it too, leave a comment and we'll keep each other in track!

Philosophy's Hope in a Jar

Throughout high school and past couple years in university, I've been using H2O Plus' Face Oasis Hydrating Treatment as my daily facial moisturizer. Recently, I even tried their Face Oasis Ultra Hydrator which claims to be more moisturizing compared to the Hydrating Treatment. They're right. However, I decided to venture out and try something new. Not because the products I've been using isn't right for me, but simply out of curiosity.

My new product of choice? Philosophy's Hope in a Jar.

*side note: I had horrible skin during my preteen and teenage years. I was an active swimmer so my skin was constantly exposed to chlorine and all the nasty stuff in pools. However, H2O Plus's Hydrating Treatment helped me repair my dry skin. I have combination skin.

What They Say
This product claims to hydrate, exfoliate, and protect the skin. It is mostly (99.9%) oil-free. It is designed to smooth complexion and reduce wrinkles and discolouration. It was "originally created for the medical market" to deliver "soft, healthy, glowing results".

What I Say
Although it claims for results to show after a few uses, I didn't see it for myself. It initially dried my skin. It also roughened my skin as well. (Perhaps it was in its "deep exfoliating" stage.) I've been constantly using the product for a month now and I see some positive changes in my skin. It is much smoother and hydrated. Yet at the same time, it doesn't promote my skin to be oily which is a huge plus for us combination skin girls. The down side is the scent. It's not my favourite scent in the world and it stays for a good hour or so. Also, sometimes it feels like I have a layer of moisturizer on top of my skin (rather than it being absorbed). This is a huge con when using mineral makeup because the moisturizer stays on for a long time and soaks up the makeup.

Peanut Butter and Beauty Overview
SPF? no
Unscented? no (however they claim the scent to be not artificial)
Moisturizing? yes
Availability? really easy to get (Sephora, beauty boutiques, Amazon.com)

Hope in a Jar? Maybe not. So although it's raved about on YouTube and Sephora, I think it has a little work to do before I can make it my #1 go-to moisturizer. However, I will easily go back to this if my first choice is unavailable.

Curiousity

Hey darlings!

2010 is finally here. I haven't been active on this blog (and vlog). Mainly it's due to lack of ideas! I don't like doing too many similar posts so here's my question to you.

What do you want to see more from Peanut Butter and Beauty Blog?

All ideas are welcomed!
